Coverage will be available to all Uber drivers operating in the UK and enrolled in the Uber Pro program. Drivers can purchase coverage through the Uber app and the digital experience is powered by embedded insurance startup Indeez. Coverage will be extended to other markets in the future.

“Vehicle Interruption Cover is an extremely important add-on to the product offering we have jointly developed with Uber, one of our top strategic partners in the mobility ecosystem, to enable them to provide protection for their community of drivers. Our goal is to become the largest provider of insurance and assistance solutions for gig economy workers in Europe, and this product is another step to achieving that. And we’re delighted to offer this service to help ensure members of the growing gig economy are fully protected.” – Jean-Marc Pailhol, Chief Officer Global Strategic Partnerships and Board Member at Allianz Partners.

“We are keen to offer VIC to our Driving Partners. It is a seamless experience and in the unfortunate case of an accident, drivers can benefit from financial protection to bridge potential downtime.” – Hendrik Todte, Director of Uber Affinity UK.

“At Indeez, we’re excited to launch Vehicle Interruption Cover with Allianz Partners and Uber, supporting UK Uber drivers when their vehicles are off the road. This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainable, inclusive insurance that fuels partner growth. We’re proud to help drivers maintain their livelihoods and look forward to expanding these benefits to more markets.” – Vikas Chhariya, Founder and CEO of Indeez.
